On September 28, people of Detroit came together on the East side to turn fragments of abandoned clothing into messages of peace and hope. Clothing turned prayer flags were set to fly, ascending the hopeful words of diverse Detroiters and visitors upwards towards a beacon of light affixed to the chimney of a home with a tragic history. Generated were feelings of peace and unity, and a hope that maybe together we can make a better place. Photography, music, art and short film from the local team were exhibited at the Local Project Gallery(NYC).
Artefacting is aiming to continue its work with the local community members and inspired individuals.
